Superior Features
This Fluorescent Machine Tool fixture is one of the finest,
if not THE FINEST, and the most duable fixture offered in the
industrial market today. The basis of its durability is its
1-3/4" diameter, shatter-proof (GE) Lexan casing. The superior
design uses a 4100 degree Kelvin bulb and defusing reflector to
produce an exceptionally bright white light. In the case of the
11" fixture (The Sawfish), this virtually unbreakable casing is
complemented with a rough service bulb. The rough service bulb
alone is ten times more impact resestant. This fixture is
designed for, and is an excellent selection for the most brutal
and rugged machine type (i.e. 1600 ton presses, EDM, screw
machines, etc.). The unsurpassed and unique combination of
rugged durability, technical performance, product versatility is
of exceptional quality. This fixture is a result of impeccable
technicla detailing at each component level coupled with the
highest degree of component quality. Each fixture is made by
hand with gread care in the United States. This assures maximum
reliability. It is UL and CUL Listed.
GE's Lexan Outer Casing
The 1-3/4"diameter (2"at widest point) Lexan outer casing is
virtually unbreadkable even in the most hostile and the roughest
industrial environments. It is resilient and extremely versatile
in extreme vibration and moist/wet conditions. The PVC (poly
vinyl chloride) end caps serve as impact protection. The
O-rings, molded into the end cap, offer a moisture resestant
fixture. All electrical components are UL approved and the
superior design places the components inside a closed
water-resistant chamber to insure the operator's safety. The
temperature tolerance is approximately 5 degrees Fahrenheit to
140 degrees Fahrenheit (temperature is fixture dependent). The
fixture draws .2 to .6 amps.
External Ballast
On each of the 110 volt versions of this remarkable machine
fixture, the ballast is external to the fixture and placed on
the cord. This allows the fixture and light source to be placed
into rugged and hostile machining and industrial environments
while protecting the expensive ballast in a safe, dry location.
This design detailing adds to the reliability of this fixture -
even in the toughest of machine and industrial environments. The
ballast is encased for easy serviceability or cord adjustment.
Specifically Tailored Reflectors Offer a Pure White Light
Our specially tailored reflectors offer a pure white light
unlike most industrial fluorescent fixtures that cast off
traditional colors. This eliminates artificial shadowing in the
work area. The reflector directs light while shielding the
operator's eyes.
Oil Resistant Cords
The standard 6-foot or 25-foot cable (noted as the last
number of the Part Number) uses SJTOW-A industrial oil-resistant
- all weather cable. THe 16 gauge copper/ 3 conductor cable
remains flexible even in cold weather. Our standard cable is UL,
CUL and CSA approved. The grounded 120 volt plug offers an added
degree of safety and meets OSHA requirements: A magnetic cord
holder comes standard with each fixture to position the cording
free and away from tooling or entanglements.
Auto-Start Offers Immediate Light
The standard auto-start feature offers immediate light
quality upon plugging in or turning on the fixture.
Water-Resistant End Caps
O-rings are molded into the end caps to prevent water or
industrial coolants/solutions from entering the light chamber.
Ultra-Violet Inhibitors
The ultra-violet inhibitors are molded into the two end caps
and outer tube to increase component life and eliminate
yellowing of the Lexan casing. This protects the Lexan casing
from coloring over time. The end result is an exceptionally bright white light that won't yellow.
